Wages for Operations Managers Based on Employer Type in Canada

The average salaries of an operations manager in Canada vary depending on the employer type. The highest salaries for managers are earned at hospitals and governments. The lowest paying employers for operations are franchises and non-profit organizations. The following salaries are based on 1,004 operations managers surveyed. In hospitals, a typical manager earns $80,000 per year. Managers working for governments including federal, local, and state earn approximately $73,500 per year. Operations managers that work for companies, colleges or universities, through contract work, or other organizations earn an average salary between $60,000 and $64,000 per year. Self-employed companies and school districts pay operations managers around $56,000 to $59,000 per year. Private practice organizations and firms, foundation and trust organizations, and non-profit organizations pay between $48,000 and $51,000 per year. The lowest paying employers are franchises which pay approximately $40,000 per year. The best place for an operation manager to work is a hospital which always has many processes to be changed.
